    Default Michigan Spring Crappie Camp

This is the "official" spring Crappie Camp notification. Please post any new questions or comments within this thread.

Michigan would like to invite ANY Crappie enthusiast or Crappie dot Com Member to our annual Spring/Summer Crappie Camp to be held on the weekend of June 6th and 7th 2015 at the backwaters of Croton/Hardy Pond.

The below events will take place at the "Sandy Beach Campground". Reservations and directions can be obtained at the following site:
    http://www.countyofnewaygo.com/ParksAndRecreation.aspx

We will host a social event (known as Liars Club) on Friday June 5th starting at around 7pm. This event usually takes place around a fire pit at someone's camp site (Yankee Doodler and Cake Lady are usually gracious hosts). The sharing of "SNACKS" is strongly encouraged!!!! Remember to bring a chair and your beverage of choice.

During Liars club, we will finalize the T-shirt sales, accept any donations for the fishing tournament, and sell tickets to the charity Raffle to take place on Saturday June 6th.

The fishing trournament is a friendly event. We will have an indiviual event awarding a custom plaque and prizes to the biggest crappie (1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place). We will also have a team/boat event awarding prizes to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place for the heaviest five crappies weighed in for each boat. Children under the age of 16 will NOT be required to make a donation to be eligible for prizes. Prizes will NOT be in the form of cash.

Saturday June 6th will be the main event day. The fishing will start at the first safe light and will expire at 2:00PM. Weight ins will take place at the pavilion following the event.
A POTluck style luncheon will take place around 3:00PM. We ask that you bring a dish to pass and your own beverages. NOTE: following this notification, I will post certain items that we will need for the event. Feel free to post what you would be willing to bring!

This year, we decided to hold a charity raffle (information can be found here: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/michi...harity-raffle/). If you would like to donate items, please post pictures of them in that thread. Tickets will be sold at the Liars Club, and leading up to the raffle. Ticket breakdown will be: 1 ticket for $3.00, 2 tickets for $5.00, 6 tickets for $10,00 or 14 tickets for $20.00
Prior to the luncheon, the items will be placed on a table with a cup next to it. You will take your tickets, separate them (you will keep one side of the ticket to verify holding a winning number) and place the other ticket into any cup you would like to try and win. You can put as many of your tickets in for a single item as you would like. Drawings will take place during the social gathering and PRIOR to the luncheon.

I think I'll grab a roll of disposable table cloth too. We can always use it in future events.
