thanks for posting the pics
Well the ice is finally gone and I had the chance to take the ole kayak out Saturday for my first serious fishing trip of the season. I took my cousin with me for his first time in a kayak. Water temp was right at 43 degrees and the specks were in a shallow bay going after minnows. We used a 1/64 oz jig tipped with an Eagle Claw Crappie Bait, suspended 6 inches under a stick bobber. I usually use a clear bobber in this situation but the water was still fairly dirty so I figured the specks would not pay to much attention to it as compared to when the water is very clear, and I was right. We put 6 nice gills, 1 jumbo perch, and 20 specks between 10 and 12 1/2 inches on the stringer in just over 2 1/2 hours. Off to a great start.

john
lol,, nope, just really busy in the winters doing my artwork and writing that I have very little time to do anything else, plus if I get that stuff done during the winter my wife does not have to much of a problem with me fishing 2 or 3 days a week from April through September. That is a sacrifice I can live with.
Look forward to hearing more from you and the rest of the Michigan crew.
Happy fishing and remember

Quackdaddy; Small world. I was born & raised in Dayton. My dad and I fished the Stillwater R. and Miami R. for smallmouth and crappies when I was a kid.
I had an aunts and uncles that lived in Vandalia and out on a farm on Peter's Pike. You familiar with any of those places?

great way to start off the season, good job
and what a surface too! Nice job. I always enjoy your pics. Keep 'em comin'. I haven't checked the poll today...is there a vote by you? Hope so. You need to make the spring outing this year. I know you planned it last year and had some things get in the way.

Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
I just cast my vote and whatever lake it is on I am in. I also will give away this drawing for the tournament. I drew it this winter while bored with the ice.
