And prop info
Attachment 423671
Took the toon out fishing yesterday an noticed I'm not getting the listed max rpm of 6k plate says it should idle at 725 but it's at 850 and this is max rpm I'm getting
Motor info
I did full maintenance 2 weeks ago only thing I did not change was thermostat and the flywheel belt..
May be over propped a bit. Unless you were getting max rpms before the tune up

Don't know what it was before only ran it couple of times when I got it 3 yeas ago . Then I got a severe head injury this is really first time that I'm going thru it.
I'm getting 2 different prop recommendations mercury says to run it with a 14inch 13 pitch. Solas says 13.75in 11 pitch so don't know
I can't open the attachment that says prop information. Is the Mercury recommended prop less pitch than your current one?

This is my current prop only. 25 in diameter bigger same pitch as mercury recommended. So how much pitch to go down to get that 1k higher you think
My 4 stroke 60 CommandThrust will reach 6000. I usually run it around 5000 rpm. I need to get a Stainless prop for it and move some weight around

Can we have a little more info on the boat? How long, typical load, extra weight from add ons? Going by the numbers you posted, you have to much pitch in your prop. You can play with pitch and diameter to get to a better rpm range. IF....this is a 22 foot or bigger pontoon, I hate to say it, but you may be under motered. Toons aren't heavy by nature but get overloaded easy and even with the "bow" like shape on the toons, they are like pushing a brick through the water. Tri-toons are a little better because they have a little more hull for the weight to slide on. All that to say, in either case, dropping a bit in pitch will give you more RPMs and more torque in the water but cost you a bit of speed. On the other side running 1000 RPMs low is not good for your motor. 5500-6000 is the sweet spot.
ok went back to the mercury site on my pc this time , looks hella different than on my phone. This what i came up with..
this for top speed
this for fuel economy
both show same top speed ill be going from 20 mph to an est 26 mph
Just have to figure which prop tp go with..
Those are considerably different numbers
