Has it always felt the same power wise? Or does it feel lacking like something is off mechanically. Generally toons are propped large for top end, because hole shot doesn't matter and steering is more important. Make sure you have the correct motor and gearbox selected on the Mercury prop tool, it being a CT youll use less pitch since its a bigger prop but i would have thought 13P area would be perfet, you must have it loaded.

You won't notice any difference with SS vs alum in the same prop design with a toon.

The 50s and 60s really do like to be ran high, 5500-6000rpm so you do need to drop some pitch. I would drop 2 pitch and you should be better off, 11p 4 blade.

The other thing is your block and oil temp is cold, things move a lot better when they are warm vs 32f, youll gain at least 100rpm on a nice summer day. Probably more like 200.

I was speaking more to your oil temp, especially if you have 25w40 in there.

Aluminum flexes and that will change the pitch. Prolly negligible on a 60hp though.

My aluminum was a little boogered up on the edges when I got it. Stainless is just more durable

Ive just heard that if you hit something with the ss prop its not as forgiving as a aluminum prop..

Can we have a little more info on the boat? How long, typical load, extra weight from add ons? Going by the numbers you posted, you have to much pitch in your prop. You can play with pitch and diameter to get to a better rpm range. IF....this is a 22 foot or bigger pontoon, I hate to say it, but you may be under motered. Toons aren't heavy by nature but get overloaded easy and even with the "bow" like shape on the toons, they are like pushing a brick through the water. Tri-toons are a little better because they have a little more hull for the weight to slide on. All that to say, in either case, dropping a bit in pitch will give you more RPMs and more torque in the water but cost you a bit of speed. On the other side running 1000 RPMs low is not good for your motor. 5500-6000 is the sweet spot.
