I went to my local boat shop and they didn't have any DFI oil. I've heard there are substitutes but I'm scared of them.

Obviously we draw from the same pool of luck. Sounds like something that would happen to me. Sounds like you got a good result forn the battery move

No sense in risking it

Today I ran the boat pretty hard. I hit 5150 rpm and 37.5 by the gps. At that range I noticed I lost some water pressure. So I'm guessing I'm at my upper limit on my jack and actually need to let it down some. I know some of you guys mentioned possibly changing props. This is the one that's on it Merc marine Laser II. Any suggestions? And thanks for your help this far.

5150 max RPM is right at the bottom of manufacturer's spec. It will breath much easier (and last longer) if you prop it so that you are maxing out near the top of the range. Not much kills an outboard faster than lugging (too much prop).
I agree. Can you make a recommendation?

Won't that slow the boat down?

Should allow the motor turn at a higher rpm the speed should be close in the same. Less pitch on the prop won't lug the motor getting it into a more desirable / higher area of the rpm band
