I have a new issue with my newly purchased system check tech. Before replacing it I could not get the lights to turn off but now when turning on the key the hot light never comes on. However the check engine, low oil, no oil lights come on when turning on the key and go off as they should. Earlier this evening I was trying to figure out why that light would not come on when first turning on the key so I disconnected the temp switch while the engine was running to see if I could hear the alarm horn go off when grounding to the block. By doing this the alarm did sound but no light ever came on the tach. When the alarm sounded the motor actually dropped in RPM until it died and for a while I had no spark at all so the motor was spinning but was never starting. I ended up fumbling with some wires on the port side of the motor and it finally fired up again. I don't know if there was a loose wire connection or just a coincidence. But is there any electrical signal that would be sent to the tachometer to have that light come on or should it be coming on with the other three? I'm just wondering if somehow that tachometer has ended up turning faulty and just need a replacement

Go back to 6-8 pin plug, going to gauge cluster, find wire that's for overheat light, ground wires at temp. sensors and check plug onside before gauge cluster.
