It sounds like air is getting into the line somewhere if it's not keeping prime. I would start with a new gas line from the motor to your tank and a new bulb. If they are several years old that could be a good thing to replace and is cheap and easy.
The pump bulb or whatever it's called on the gas line from my gas tank to my motor is not staying firm. Motor will start to loose power and I have to pump the bulp to get it going. What could be wrong? Bad gas line?

Could be that, or could possibly be a small tear/hole in the diaphragm of your fuel pump.
Remove cowel of motor, with it tilted down, pump up bulb and start checking from where fuel line attaches to motor. Check all the fuel lines that run to filter, fuel pump and carburetors or injectors which ever you have. Look for any leaks of fuel or air bubbles. If no leaks I suspect a fuel pump issue. Can you tell us if you have carburetors or fuel injected?

Ok, it’s carb. Betting fuel pump diaphragm. But still check for those leaks.

If it's a fuel pump problem should I just get one of these?

If that is for your HP engine, yes. Look at your motor and see if you can find it to make sure it looks like that.

Easiest thing to do first is replace primer bulb. They go bad all the time and will prime, but not hold prime. If you do this get a good one,not one from Walmart.

It looks like most gas lines are 3/8 now. Mine is 5/16. Should I stay with 5/16 if I get a all new assembly or if I get the 5/8 do I just have to get new fittings?
