    Default Mercury Optimax parts

I am in need of a compressor for my Opti 200. Do I have any friends here that offers or sells new Mercury parts?

    Thanks

I bought one off EBay for my neighbors 150hp Optimax. Leaders Marine had the best price on a new one.

My neighbor wanted to buy local but he wanted to save money more. If my memory serves me right we paid a little over $730.00 for his. If you ever need something in the future you should check with them. They're prices were good and shipping was fast.

Yeah i would have bought it elsewhere also especially if it were cheaper. The local place has never went out of there way to help me and the shipping isnt gonna be all that quick ,it doesnt look like, either. I will definitely look them up the next time i need something.

Crankshaft bearings went out of the compressor on my 225 optimax 6 years ago. I took it apart and matched the bearings up at Napa cleaned it all up and have been running it ever since.
60 dollars in bearings was much easier to swallow than 850.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Yeah it would have been. I was 50 miles offshore when mine started the death chirp. I pointed it in and ran it until it quit. It made it about 17 miles before it catastrophically broke.

On my buddies compressor the crankshaft bearing failed. The crankshaft, rod and piston were trashed and metal chips got between the piston skirt and the cylinder wall and scored it. At least the the metal didn't make it past the rings or it would have needed the fuel rails and injectors cleaned too.
