    Default boat advice

ok here's the deal i own a 1992 sea ark all weld 1448 jon boat. it has a small steering column and a 25 hp electric start motor. i love this boat because it has no wood on it anywhere so i don't have to worry about covering it or garaging it.the elec start motor is a must for me because of back issues. the only complaint i have is it does not have tilt and trim which is tough on me, and i would like a bit more room, now here is what i need to know i have around 4000.00 to spend so i was thinking of buying another boat maybe going to a 16' and maybe another ft wide and with tilt and trim but then it would probably be a bass tracker and i am sure i would have to start worrying about covering it all the time and i have heard bad reviews for bass trackers would i be better off staying with my boat and adding tilt and trim or roll the dice. thanks in advance

If you like it that much just add a CMC PT-35 for around 700 bucks.

Thats what I would do, with used boats you just never know what you are getting and with your boat that you already have, you know exactly what you have and you like it.

The word "BOAT" stands for "Bring Out Another Thousand"

yea thanks for the replies i guess it really does make sense i am very comfortable with the boat it gets a bit cramped for additional fishers but i am usually alone anyway so the extra room is not that important smart move is probably keep what i have thanks again. ps with the extra money maybe now i can get i pilot lol

Hold on to your pennies and go sit in an 1860 sometime. Same boat, just on steroids. Very stable and comfortable. I had a 1648 that was good but it didn't compare to the 1860.

If you have a really good boat shop within a reasonable distance...I mean the kind with several good mechanics,a bone yard, used and new boats...take your's there and tell them what your thinking and see what they come up with. A really good boat shop is invaluable. They are sort of like women and horses...nothing better than a good one or worse than a bad one.

You can get a Bob's trim and tilt for 650 or less if you shop on the net. I never could find any bad postings on his work and so installed one myself and it works like a charm.
