    Default Prop end play?

I've got a 90 HP 4 stroke Mercury. On a 22' pontoon. The question is how much end play should there be in the prop on the shaft. This one moves a little more than I'd think was right.

The other question is The thing shifts between gears real hard, I have replaced the shift unit on the dash with no help.Where should I look next?
    thanks for any help!

There usually very little end play in the prop shaft. It would be helpful to give a measurement of how much. Shifting hard could be a bad shift cable [simple fix] or if you have a lot of prop end play it could be a lower unit problem. Might want to have a shop look at it.
