    Default Trim Fluid

I have a Tohatsu 50 tldi with tilt/trim. Manual calls for Dexron II or III ATF to replenish low fluid level. I replenished the fluid with Dexron VI.Would mixing the two cause any damage to the pump, seals, etc.?
The seal went to leaking the next day and it quit working. Was this coincidence or did adding the Dexron VI cause damage?
If I dont ask its my fault for not knowing

I did a google of those fluids and it appears that Dexron VI is backwards compatible with all the previous versions.

I think what happened to you was you had a leak for awhile if you had to add fluid, then when you add fluid it increased the pressure and finished off your seal. Like Clint said its backward compatable so should have had no effect on it.

Yes Sir I found the same thing. Thanks for your reply. I suppose the Dexron VI is what I'll have to go back with being the other is no longer available.
