    Default Trailer axle issue

Last weekend I took my hub off to get bearing size to redo the hubs. They were greased well but back bearing was stuck and hard to get off. The hub spindle was scratched pretty bad so I got the bearing size and repacked them because I had fishing plans this week and I don't travel far but I setting up for a long distance trip. What should I do with the axle to make it right before I put new bearings on.

If it were mine I would check the axle for discoloration a blue tint which means the spindle has gotten hot if it has you may be looking at replacing the axle. No discoloration I would check where the seal rides if that looked good I would take some emery cloth clean up the scratches so the bearing slides on and call it good.
