As my name implies GDLT31, I have a 16/56 Godevil boat with a 31hp long tail that I have had about 12 years. If your going to stand you need a stand up bar just for balance purposes.Plus you have more control over your boat. The more you run your boat the more at home you feel. I have a product called Frog Spit painted on the bottom of the boat, there's not a lily pad patch I won't run into and stop to fish. One thing always and I mean always wear your engine cutoff cord. I hope this helps. If you do coat the bottom with Frog Spit DO NOT unhook your boat until it's in the water, cause the boat will slide off the trailer.
