If you look at where the threaded hole is on the base of the mount just slide the motor back and drill a hole to match the threaded hole. This is what I did. Works just fine.

I've decided to drill the second hole in the lower bracket and use a plastic screw in place of the steel thumb-head screw provided. That will let me move the motor back and have the shear-pin type protection for which I was looking.
