    Default Trim @ Tilt

I have a mercury outboard I am going to reelfoot lake and was wondering if I could turn the screw so the motor would come up if I hit a stump. would this cause any damage to the trim and tilt I willing be going slow.

The system has a built in function that will release if something is hit hard enough. If you are going to move around slowly, your best bet would be to leave the trim alone and run the engine in a shallow water position.
    I'd rather be fishing.
