    Default Boat trailer axel breaking

Just wondering if anyone else has had a problem with hub welds breaking. What I thought was a bend was actually a weld failure. Mine happens to be a Marine Master boat trailer but axles are likely a supplied item. Am I alone with this?

I had one break once while driving down a rough road to the lake. One minute everything is OK and the next I saw the hub and wheel go flying off the trailer. Had to drag the boat and dtrailer on one wheel to the parking lot, about a 1/2 mile. Had to take everything out of the boat including motor and drive home and started to call around about an axle. No one had one but went to our local Tractor Supply and they had one that wasn't a match but worked well enough so I could get everything home. Took 3 weeks before I could get a new axle and put it on.

I blame the broken axle on the rough roads that I was driving on getting to the lake. It broke right at the hub.

First thing I would do is contact Marine Master. Most manufactures get real helpful with something like this. Welds should not break even on rough roads.
