    I'm sure this question has been answered before, but can I use regular Castrol oil in my 2011 40 hp Yamaha since is a low foaming oil?

    I can tell you I run rotella T diesel engine oil in everything....... including High revving race motorcycles, with zero ill effects.

    That's what I use in my 2004 50 HP Yamaha. Never had a problem.

    Rotella -T has zinc in it to help protect the bearings. Next oil change, I'm switching to it in my '69 Ford F250. Do NOT use this in any engine with a catalytic converter! Nasty things be gonna happen!
