    Default VRO Alarm not working

Recently purchased boat with 150 Evinrude XP motor. The previous
owner had disconnected the VRO system. I hooked it back up and
turned on ignition but no alarm. The oil tank is empty. I looked under
instrument panel, but see nothing looking like an alarm. Where could
it be, and do they go bad? thanks

leave it off and mix the gas and oil and NEVER worry if your motor is getting enough oil. JMO

The alarm can be in two locations, if you have a control box with key switch and a warm up lever the alarm is inside (Factory OMC box only) or key switch on the dash and shifter handle only on the side panel, alarm is under the dash , small black box, tan and purple wire going into it. Turn the key on then on powerhead unhook a tan wire on a cylinder head next to spark plugs, stick a small screwdriver into the wiring harness side and touch the screw driver to a bolt to see if alarm sounds, if not you need to find out why because the oil alarm is also the overheat alarm and you need that one if the oil is unhooked or not.
