Default Boat Cover for War Eagle 648

I've tried several different cheap boat covers on my war eagle 648 and they haven't worked out. I keep my boat outside so when it rains water collects in the middle of the cover causing it to sag and rip in places . So I need some suggestions please .

You need ribs or other supports under the cover. You can build frames with PVC pretty easily to keep the cover from sagging.

Do you want a cover you can trailer, or just for storage?

So....you've tried several cheap covers and they haven't worked...How much money has that cost you???? You get what what you pay for.

I would suggest protecting your boat with a good cover that is made for the boat.

Size: 63.4 KBI ordered one from Cabela's that matched my boat model and year and it works great. It has built in web straps that adjust to your rig and are real easy to put on and take off. I think it was a shade over $200 and has a 5 year guarantee.
I agree with Catfan that you need some PVC ribs for support. I did not have on my first cover and we got a freak snow and the weight ripped my cover cause the snow piled up. Here are pictures of how I made my PVC support. The uprights just slip over the seat pedestals. I made the height to match the cover so it came down about 6-8" over the sides of the boat.

Cabelas or BPS have support poles to keep the cover from sagging from rain/snow, etc., but what SeaRay made should work fine. I used to use those folding webbed lawn chairs to support my cover in years past. just need to make sure whatever the support is will not rip or tear the cover in a windstorm, broad enough so it won't wear a spot out quickly.

I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.

Exclamation Hey Birdy ... another alternative

I have two sets of these support poles (see links), that the former owner of my boat included in the deal :

Clothing, Toys, Electronics, Jewelry, Jaclyn Smith - Kmart.com

Dmc Abs Pvc Boat Cover Support Pole

(I included two links, as the pricing ranges from ~$8 to ~$20 ... depending on where you look)

K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Sears, and possibly some of your local marine dealers may also carry these.

Here's my boat w/cover on, but without these support poles :

With the support poles in place, I do not need to leave the seats up on their poles (as they are in this picture). This eliminates the pressure points where the cover meets the metal hinges of the seat backs, which keeps them from rubbing a hole through the cover.

The black square, on the cover, IS a patch ... but it was patched due to a hole caused by the rear seat hinge, during trailering to Tenn (prior to my purchase of the boat), and NOT while sitting & covered.
Sorry, but I do not have a picture of the covered boat with the support poles in place.

I don't know if the information in the links above say so, or not, but these support poles are not a single piece deal. The caps & bases are seperate pieces, and the poles are segmented ... & they all fit together to make the support pole adjustable in height, but they are only adjustable by the length of each pole segment.
