Thread: 2004 mercury 60hp hood cowl lever broke

Anyone had this problem and know how to fix it. I tried everything to pop the release over but cannot force it loose to remove the hood. Short of grinding off the bolts/rivets, i can not think of any way to fix it, and dont want to mangle the cover as they are a bit pricey.


Any help would be appreciated

mine has always been a bit snug to snap open or close, but haven't broken it yet.
