I lost track of this thread as I have been taking my boat on the water lately.

However I picked up some ' JB Water Weld ' in the clay form for the cracks. It worked on the stress cracks by the handle, but on the floor ( 2nd picture ) it seems to flex to much and it cracked right through the dried water weld. I was thinking of trying the aluminum (foil?) and silicone idea next, will it work with my plastic boat? I'd look up professional fixes, but honestly how much does it generally run?

And to find places that weld plastic, should I look towards local boat dealers? Or general welders?

I've also been reading about people that repair kayaks made of similar material with a few pieces of duct tape heated up and smashed into the crack..?

Go to a NAPA auto parts store and ask for a ABS Plastic Repair kit.....The kit will have everything that you need to patch and repair your cracks....it comes with instructions.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

okay heres the best way to repair those cracks ... go to Auto Zone and get a product called plastic weld.. now that said use this to repair cracks the important thing is that is has METHACRYLIC ADHESIVE THIS WILL ACTUALLY WELD THE CRACKS TOGETHER..... now as for welding the cracks go to Harbor frieght and get a plastic welder for $15 buck.. it too will weld the cracks. but be really carefull not to over heat the ABS as the compostion of ABS will lose strenght>>>>

Who makes the boat? What is the material????? When I had mine done the materials cost
more than the labor! I'd bet if it's just the pictured split it will be LESS than $30. I'm 99%
positive it's not ABS. RV repair shops, plastics dealers would be the place to start, they
can probably recommend someone. I've been down this road, you can waste a lot of TIME
and money on something thats an economical fix and protect your investment.

RocketRich posted this on the Main forum and said they are a manufacturer of many plastic boats. This is the companies website.

620-336-2124 is the companys information line if you wanted to give them a call and try to get one of those repair kits.

I am not sure on the material of the boat, its a 'Magnum' manufactured in Cherryvale, KS. Doesn't look like they are open anymore and a quick google didn't bring much up. The boat is really old too so that doesn't help the cause.

I am going to check with a Kayak and Outdoors shop local to me to see where to start and what they recommend and go from there. SO many replies in this thread with ideas I am not sure which one to take.

the kit that I bought at Harbor Freight was $15 and I did weld it first then used a kit supplied by the manufacturer to complete the process. remember it has to flex so most epoxy won't do it small cracks i would weld some you might be able fuse it . the kit comes with plastic welding rod. just don't stay in one place too long
