Try tilting it in a little or moving down a pin if no trim and tilt. I would think the 25 would plane that hull just fine.
I need a little help.. I just bought a 04 Alumacraft 1425 Fisherman V- bottom boat that has a 06 mercury 25hp 4 stroke on it also with steering console. The problem I am having is is it just will not plain out. The boat will run about 20 mph with the front end up in the air. I put two trolling motor batteries up front and put a whale tale on the motor, this does keep the front down but still will not get up on plain like I am use to. My question is it just under powered? or is there something else I need to look at? I know I had an older 16' v bottom with very same layout as this boat with an older 25 hp Johnson and it would pop right up on plain and go also that boat would do about 20 mph. Any help would be great and thanks.

I agree, it sounds like it is tilted out too far.

I had a 25 2-stroke on a 16' Tracker, it would get on plane and do 30mph. Something is wrong with your motor installation or your prop.

Any chance you have a tach on that console? Maybe you are not reaching its peak rpm.
And Remember Four Stroke Not As Fast As Two Stroke
Can you post some pictures of the installation?

I agree...need pictures....what kind of prop are you running?? What pitch?? Do you know? Should show on the prop somewhere. That can have alot to do with it. Does it sound like its whinding up?? Or does it sound like its lugging?? Should easily get you and your boat and cargo on plane. Is it a long or short shaft??
