    Default ngk buhw spark plug?


    i took the plugs out of my 20hp mercury and looked at them because it wont start.so heres my question how far should the electrode in the middle be?mine are even with the rest of the bottom of the plug is that correct or should it stick up alittle

    got my starting problem fixed.put new plugs in and cleaned carb fired on first pull so i guess my plugs were fouled

    Glad you got it going. I replace my spark plugs every year and also my water pump impeller. Drain your lower gear case and refill with fresh gear oil every year also.

    i change my plugs and lower unit oil every year but have not yet changed my impeller for the water pump .
    should i do that i mean it shoots a good stream of water when ideling and a powerful one when running . but then again how do i know it's going bad ?
