Default Its getting Hot and Green on Delmarva

Tried a quick early morning trip to one of our local ponds this morning. When I pulled in the parking lot a 5 30 there was 1 other rig launching and one already on the water. So when I got in the fellas there talked to me a bit and said there was gonna be a bass tournament there today, seem like theres a tournament in every pond this time of year??
This pond is not known for a lot of crappie but we've caught some nice ones there so was hoping to get a big one or two. Well I slowed trolled and did a little casting for a solid 2 hours, and had a couple of maybe bites, and caught one really small bass, my thumb end hardly fit in its mouth, the planer bobber I caught him on was longer than it, maybe 2 1/2 inches, heres a picture.
Guess the waters getting too warm and its definatly starting to get that pea green look so things might be getting slow till the fall turnover in that pond. Guess have to center efforts on other spots???

heh heh...Dang Gduck...a real bruiser....is your area getting any of that mossy type algae thats choking everything out? My bro went to Smithville on sat morn and text me a pic of that place and man....don't seem like a boat can move in that stuff...I hit Prettyboy bright and early sat morn and it was a real popular place as well...It was a real test of patience dealing with a few of them and their lack of other fishermans "comfort zone" so to speak. But despite all of that the white perch were there as always in massive numbers..There is no limit or size restrictions on em so if you enjoy them have at it...I must have caught 100 of them all between 8 and 10 inches..non-stop action all day long...:D

I guess I'll survive not fishing 1 weekend after all I fished 3 times last weekend glad ya got out and tried Gduck. Might have to fish them crappie slow and deep like winter they say they sometimes act like they do when its cold when it gets real hot too.

Oh Ok...I assume the black die will not let the UV ray's feed the algae so it dies off?? Huh...very simple solution...yeah,that stuff draws massive amounts of oxygen out of a lake and starves out the good stuff...let alone all the water pumps and such...I thought I read somewhere that the state issued a new law recently banning the use of felt soled waders on account of the fear of any further spreading of that stuff.
Hey tear-em-up...I got a good tip on where the crappie are in Liberty...will keep ya posted..
