Concealed carry in the United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I carry a concealed 38 AirWeight at all times with a .45 Glock in the truck if I need it. For trips I bring out the Judge loaded with .410 slugs & .45's in that order in between the seat and console. Mossberg 12 ga. tactical loaded with non lethal Rubber slug, bird shot, then 7 pitbulls in that order is in a holster behind the passenger seat I had made.
When I fish I carry the Glock and the Mossberg is beside the drivers seat. I try to keep them out of the public view. I have had the law called on me before because someone thought I must have been a bad guy because I had a mean ol' gun.
I have been robbed twice and shot at once. I was an alley delivering freight and the guy was under my trailer waiting for me to walk by. When I saw him I ran and he fired at me and missed and luckily the door was still open where I had delivered and I ran in and shut it. Since then I have carried. Once you are in that situation you are VERY aware of your surroundings and that is the most important thing. It happens in an instant.
I take tactical and self classes a a local range at least every 6 months. My wife and daughter have and both of them carry also. They also have tasers I bought them for Christmas. The good thing is they can carry them anywhere except on planes.
The people that are dangerous are the ones that think they are a bad a** because they have one and want everyone to know it..
I think the mistake a lot of us make is thinking the state-appointed shrink is our friend.

From Steve Wunderele - 10-2-84 --"A fishing trip maybe brief, but it's memories are endless."
Until the last few years, I never even thought about having a gun on me. I knew next to nothing about them other than they would kill you.
I've fished by myself for years, never thinking about what "might happen".
Then I got married and had children.
One evening I was by myself and enjoying a calm peaceful lake; fishing. Next thing I know there are about six hispanic guys there beside me talking in a language that I have very limited ability to understand. One became the leader of sorts and started asking me questions in his limited English. At first the questions were ok...was I catching anything, etc. I answered and continued fishing. They left.
About an hour later, they returned. This time the questions weren't the same. They were a bit more personal, even racy. I declined their invites and explained that my husband was out in the boat and would be returning in a few minutes to get me. Now, I'm not one to lie, but they had the hair standing on the back of my neck. They did leave after throwing thier cast net a few times and chasing off any possible fish I might would have caught. It was all ok, cause I didn't waste any time leaving as soon as I could.
I took the gun safety and carry and concealed classes. I chose the gun I felt safest with. I learned that gun and how to shoot it. I practice. I carry. I would not have done anything different had I had my gun on me that night; however, I would have felt better knowing I COULD defend myself if they became more than just vocal.
I pray that I am never put in the position to have to be "judged by 12", but I'm ready.
(Glock .40)
"Be Ye Fishers of Men" You catch them- He will clean them
My kind of woman. Glad to here that you didnt get a sample gun.
i do most of my fishing at night (usually alone) and you will find a loaded 9mm in the front pouch of my tackel box. like my rods, i will not leave home without it.
EAT, SLEEP, FISH AND LOVE THY WIFE
Why wouldnt you carry with the crap that goes on today ,it used to be just in the big cities but it is now spread into the rural areas of our country ,just a couple of months ago at ebenezer boat ramp on Jordan lake here in nc a lady was jumped by 3 hispanics and luckily a boat full of tired crappie fisherman who had fished all night pulled up at the ramp ,the last thing the lady said to the deputies and the park ranger was thank god for rednecks.it was not a pretty site all 3 were arrested and taken into custody 2 were wanted in another state none were legal, and yes I carry and always have browning 9mm high power hand loaded ammo that will knock you down and as far as ccw permit all states who have ccw are reciprical with all other states as for the new law concerning ccw on state parks you better check your laws that was changed for federal parks not state parks and recreation.
may god send you calm sea,s and southwest winds
[QUOTE=crappyhappy;809269] as far as ccw permit all states who have ccw are reciprical with all other states.QUOTE]
This is not always right certain state will honor other states licence but not others. for example Alabama and Ohio both have ccw but do not honor each others licence. Another example is Oregon, Arizona, Connecticut have ccw but will not honor any other states licence. There are othe rstates with the same policy. You can go to Handgunlaw.us to get a full list of which states honor which permit.
I ALWAYS carry everytime I go fishing, let alone anywhere else. I carry a Springfield XDM9 with 20 rounds in and 2 extra clips. Someone is going to have a bad day if they ever put me or my family in a threatening situation. I have always been a very firm believer in only pull it out if you are going to use it.
On my person I carry a Kel-Tec 380. It's small enough to carry during the hot Summer months and can be hid without problems. Someone said they have a difficult time finding ammo for a 380, try Cheaper Than Dirt, they'll ship to your front door....
Para-Ordinance para-carry. .45 w/personal defense hollow points.
