Maybe someone should check the crime statistics for the areas?

There's probably a lot of differnet reasons, like someones state may not let them, crime might not be a real issue, and the individual just might not want to or doesn't feel his right to carry is all that important... than you have the South, our states allow us to, crime is plagueing this region and carrying weapons is a big issue down here and almost everyone does.... here in louisiana your car is an extention of your home, so no permit needed to carry loaded in your vehicle.

Every time I have a concealed weapons permit for it also gets crazy around my area especially the more you get into the hot summer months. Carry my Browning 40 and my 380 as backup if needed

If that browning 40 wont solve the issues you might consider turning that 380 loose on yourself. Gun fights typically dont last long enough for a backup. If a gunfight runs into overetime you have screwed up somewhere.

Hey mudbug, I've considered getting my license to carry after all of that mess on OH. I fish out there all the time by myself and I don't want to make my wife a single parent of two daughters!

Foul hook, where do you come up with this crap?
    No gun is a toy.
You dont need an elephant gun to deter.
Dead is dead, it doesn't matter if the bullet is a .22 cal or .45 cal. Your still dead.

As for the original post. I dont carry and dont see the need too, besides its illegal to carry in Illinois.

Default If I Have My Pants On, . . .

I HAVE AT THE VERY LEAST, MY TAURUS PT-145, SUBCOM 45. (If not an M-16). Kentucky law changed a few years ago after a brave prosecutor died in a shootout with a defendant while protecting his family. Now, Prosecutors (like me) and Judges with permits are unrestricted, AT ANY LOCATION. I carry in all Courthouses (except for a minor dispute with a Marshall at a Federal Courthouse. Confounded interloping Feds seem to think that Kentucky law does not apply to them). I started carrying full time several years ago after participating in some high profile prosecutions and getting some specifically credible threats. Now, my pants would fall down if I did not have my 45 in my belt and an extra mag in my back pocket.

I carry a Taurus pt 140 40 cal most all of the time. I will be getting a S&W MP 40 in the near future (I can get laser grips for it and not the Taurus). I try to carry all the time but can't on occasion. Last night I got home from my sons school baseball game to find a large dog chasing my goats around the field. The dog ran away when it seen me but if I was carrying I would not have to worry about it coming back. Someone wrote ONE SHOT ONE KILL in an earlier post unless your a sniper that don't work in reality. If you shoot someone once in the chest there will be a lot more questions (Did he realy need to shoot?) than if you empty the mag. Most untrained shooters don't even know how many times they pulled the trigger until they start hearing click instead of bang. A high number of military and police would probably shoot a few more rounds than "needed".
