Question Hobbies ... other than fishing

Hmm ... I do hunt, a couple of times a year .. mostly Dove or Rabbits. I play FPS games on my computer, when I'm not on this site, or need a diversion from my moderating duties :p I don't play on-line, preferring to play the single player modes. Most of them are what's called "shooters" (FPS = first person shooter) ... and I've played most of, if not all of, the following series :

    Unreal
    Medal of Honor
    Soldier of Fortune
    Silent Hill
    Call of Duty
    Quake
    Half-Life
    Doom
    Halo
    Max Payne
    Resident Evil
    Deus Ex
    Battlefield 2 Collection

I started some of these back on the game consoles, prior to X-box & Playstation 2 :p ... and continued with the ones I enjoyed, on my computer .. to the extent of it's capability. I'm currently playing the Battlefield Viet Nam section of the Battlefield 2 series.

Fishing will be my first. Used to shoot sporting clays but have not done that a lot in the past few years. Woodworking has always been a diversion but since I retired it has turned into a business. I guess that is a blessing now that the economy is where it is. Extra income when you're retired is a good thing. At least it supports my fishing habbit.

Simply said, outdoors. I now hunt and fish, and will always piddle with woodwork. I bought a heavy barrel .223 a year ago to learn the right way to shoot, so far - so good. Keeping the equipment for all these cared for and out of the way also takes some time. Spent years chasing clay targets of one variety or another, but cost has slowed that down some.Flushing birds has always been a strong pre-occupation. Pre-season scouting for deer is an awful lot of fun, building and setting stands and see if you really know the patterns of your prey.

Fishing is my 1st hobby then I collect classic coin operated arcade games that I use to play when I was a teenager. I have an offer out on 2 more and 1 not pictured.

The walking cane on the left is from an old Cedar Tree that was struck by lightning and had laid on the ground for several years. I made it for my Grandfather but since he passed, I let my Mother have it. The one on the right is from a young oak tree which was growing behind my folks house that had a vine growing around it. I really hate that I put that stain on it but my Mom liked it. I dont think I ever made a cane that I didnt give away lol.
I too do some "sticks" mainly hiking staff's. We went to the North Rim with my son and family a few years back and found out a staff was real nice. Haven't done any lately but here are some.

I've hunted them since I could walk, and love to find them.
