i joined just last fall and so far they haven't been bothering me to much i did get a set of books from them which i enjoy reading every now and then but nuthin extrodinary. and they sent me something with each book mostly fishing line but oh well could have bought the line for alot less money .
so with all that said they better not send me to much riffraff or we will see who flung the last chunk. lol.

I never been a member but I get the invites to join and be a tester. Now i know the "rest of the story".:p They sure push that tester part.

i dunno back in the mid 90s my dad thought it would be a good thing to sign me up
he renews it every year i asked him not to but hey all the junk comes to his house first
he gets a big kick out of it thing is im supposed to be this field tester

best thing i have ever gotten from theM was a zipper pull and rooster tails the exact
color i love and cant find in any shops they were the all chrome with red hair on the back one other thing that was neat was some sort of inlne like a rooster tail they sent a few but the shaft was made of titanium i believe so you could never bend or warp
it so it would always spin

same here. joined once years ago. constant billing to renew. always promised to send test gear etc. never received anything but renewal notices. actually called them once and mentioned it. same way with buckmasters. they constantly called until i finally told them that it was harrassment. they always called around dinner time and would not quit. why can these magazines not live up to their promises instead of the same old bait and switch?

did a search on the nafc on this forum and came across this thread. i've been a life member of the club for some time now. i sent an e-mail earlier today to the member services of the nafc to cancel my memebership. over the past year or so, they kept sending me several "late payment" invoices on a few certian things after the fact that i'd either already paid for it or sent it back to them. just got tired of all the harassment of the "late payment" invoice issues in these situations.

i was when i was a kid, i got a hook out. one of those red ones that has a bulb on each end that never work. got some white crubs. then B.A.S.S would send me hooks and some odd stuff. I got some books from them. but i still get the invites all the time.

BASS, NAFC, and several others used to send me stuff after I had made inquiries. A friend had recommended me to one of them as someone that might be interested and they hit me hard. After my initial membership with BASS when I was a kid I kinda figured out the way their plan was laid out and just don't have anything to do with em. If they could live up to their hype it would be a great thing. Instead we get something a lot less.

I have been a life member since they first started and like everyone else regretted the decision. I have been a member all these years and finally was asked to be a tester for a log keeper. I didn't even get back to them. I still get the magazine but very seldom look through it. It turned out to be a very big disappointment as with Crappie World Mag. Bass and In-Fisherman just went to commercial for my way of thinking. EB
