How long does a jar last before the bait goes bad? Or does anyone keep em that long?

I've been known to add a drop or two of Anise and a little garlic powder and sea salt to really make it smell and taste alive.

Go to the local aquarium shop and get you some garlic juice. 100% fresh squeezed juice that has to be kept in another container to keep the smell down. Comes with a dropper tube for ease of use. This stuff is strong and a few drops go a long way. Where did you hear of the anise theory? My grandfather used to make his own fish attractant out of anise and olive oil with a smiggen of garlic. Claimed the fish loved it.

My dad and my brother used to make their own concoction and called it "YIPPEE" because the fish were sure to bite. Dadgummit the stuff worked and I still think of my dad when I mix the stiff for my containers. They are both deceased now, but their memories remain in my heart.

I ain't telling how much of each ingredient they used either except a few drops, a cup, a pinch, a dab, fill the container and a smidgeon. He'd spray the stuff on tubes or live bait. Didn't matter to them. They just wanted to catch fish. Bluegills, Crappies, Smallmouth, Salmon and Catfish were all they fished for and they got 'em too.:D:D YIPPEE:D:D

Can I tell everyone how much of each ingredient I use?????????

Sheeskalambooska and dadblabbit if I told you that you'd make off with the formula like they keep trying to do with the KFC one. Next thing I know you'll be a millionaire and I'll still be a poor old sonofaogundadgonnitt.

I also remember when people used to make their own also by going to the aquarium store and buying liquid garlic. They'd add three drops of that to a cup of Olive oil and a teaspoon of sea salt.

Now dadblastitonly because you are my friends and old geezers like me I'll tell you my secret, but youoldsonofagun I'd better not see it on the market unless you cut me in on the profits.

You start with a nice quart jar. I make mine up by the quart and it lasts the entire fishin season for me. It don't matter if it's glass or plastic, I use plastic because I'm clumsy and use old whippersnappers have been known to break things. I also like dark plastic to keep the light out and stop spoiling things. Know what I mean?

OK you got that? Now go to the pharmacy or to the supermarket and get a small bottle of anise. Don't buy no big bottle because if you don't lose it that one bottle will last you six years. Open it slowly. Anise is like liquis gold man. Real slow like cause my hands got Arthur-it -is. Know what I mean...........

Take an eye dropper and add five drops of the stuff in the jar.

Now for the garlic, I like to get the stuff that you grind yourself! Get your grind on slowly until you got about 1/2 inch in the jar. Let me know when you got that far. Time for my nap. Been up too long now as it is answering these dadgummitquestions.

Great memories of your dad and brother. I'm getting to be such an old fart that I think of my dad, grand daddy, uncles, cousins. and just good friends who are gone now that I used to hunt and fish with. Oh well, I've got 2 wonderfull sons and several cousins and some great friends I'm still making memories with.

That's some awful high-end stuff you're talkin' about. But ole' Hank Parker...he's always hawkin' that kinda stuff. C'mere Deer and C'mere Crappie.

I think I'll just stick with the real thang until I see folks posting on here that swear that it outfishes live bait!

try the waxies also and i believe they are called fish fry i use the waxies to tip or for gills they work great

i also use the 4inch shad from time to time when the sauger are biting they seem to like them very well

also if you read about them it says you can dip them every few casts or when done fishing return to container to recharge you can also dip other baits for extra scent
is that a bite...YEAH FISH DONT HAVE HANDS
