My Dad, Grandpa and I have used catalpa worms for years for bream...I have a tree in my yard that I expect to yield worms this year...they're yellow with black stripes...Grandpa used to turn 'em inside out for a better "stink" in the water...harvest as many as you can and keep them in a plain brown paper bag in the refrigerator....just don't let the wife find out...BTW, if you "squish" 'em,they make a helluva mess...LOL :D

Know a guy that caught some crappie (4) on them at Reel Foot over the weekend. While fishing for catfish.
I use a long cane pole to knock the worms out of my big tall trees.

    Default Catalpa worms

We use to use them all the time when I was young. Dad would cover the ground with a few blankets and send us kids up the tree to shake those buggers out. It use to work great. Have not used them in years though.
