Darryl if I was to come to Arkansas in December what is the fish catching like? I got my 30 anniversary coming up and trying to plan on where to go.

What are the crappie and Small Mouth like then?

    Thanks,

December isn't a bad month at all. The wintertime crappie are usually higher quality. I can't speak to the small mouth since I don't fish the river that much. Here's a pick from last December with SkeeterJeff and his brother.

Skip tell your wife that doubt, That's one, slab and a half. I have'nt caught one like that in 25 years. And if anyone's in doubt of the lenght, check the numbers of buttons on her shirt, he's five buttons long. most buttons are 4" apart. I belive i would have mounted that you. I'm like you back in the day we used to catch these slabs all the time you did'nt think much about mounting a 18-19" now we think were doing something if we catch 15 or 16" slab. its a good fish

Thanks Darryl, looks like I may give that a try. I just never fished where Small Mouth are so never caught one. Maybe later on for that.

CrappieLips thanks and just wondering if you noticed she has a missing button?, LOL! Yes that fish if anything was 19" + and not less as you say. One heck of a Crappie.

Skip; I've landed one crappie out of a creek that went 3.25lbs. did not measure that fish either, did not mount her ! I have regreted it to this day, the best big fish day here was during the spawn, I had 21 that all went 2.25 or bigger. back in the 80's .

Thanks for sharing that photo, Skip. My favor-ite fishin' podnah is my wife, Gigi. She just loves to fish and has been doing so for many years.

I'm really looking forward to the spring. It will be our first spring crappie fishing as a twosome, even though we've been married a long time. <><

    Blessin's to you and yours,

    aj

    Skip,

I really like the RR jig you have below your signature. But I need to know if RR has EVER come out with a weedless variety. Never seen one myself.

I'd use more of 'em if they did. I go through a lot of micro RR's while drift fishin or slow-trollin' and get tired of keepin' RR in business at my expense! lol

I use a weedless jig almost 100% of the time when vertical jiggin' because I KNOW that it is only a matter of time that when I send one deep in to a top that it will not come back. Just wonderin'. <><
