One of the best lessons i've learned over the years is to look for an old jon boat when fishing unfamiliar waters.....i can guarantee those "old timers" know where the fish are.

there is this older fellow that fishes out of an old jon boat in the Flat Swamp part of High Rock. I have seen him twice and he always sits on this one point about 80 feet off the bank. He has a small piece of tree limb with a weight and string he throws out for a fishing marker. I have never sat and watch him fish, but I betya...he hauls them in.
