    Yes and no ^ , it depends on the rod .
    I don’t have a problem with the rods I use . During the spawn I put in lots of time locating fish.
    They’re very light. I need to put my 12 and 14s on a scale and see.

    I have to watch myself, i get excited and start fishing with my wrist loose instead of the rod tucked up under my forearm and before long my arm is dead! I do like a heavier reel to keep it from being so tip heavy, but the rear seat helps with that as well.

    I ordered a couple 2000 size kastking reels to try, should be here tomorrow
