Is anybody running one of these trolling motors ? If so, what are your thoughts. I have been thinking about doing a lil upgrading. I was on a guide trip & he had one & it seemed to be quite & work fine. With the price of boats, I think I will just upgrade some electronics & a new trolling motor. I have been looking at Garmins electronics also.

The thing about trolling motors is if they break you aint fishing. So look into repair shops around your area. Minn Kota has a much larger authorized repair shop network and its easier to get parts so thats why myself and many others went with an Ultrex. I broke mine twice already and got a brand new lower unit for free with warranty and was fixed in less than a day. I also have humminbird units and it connects to those.
If you have all Garmin units on your boat and have a shop that can work on them near you, they are a fine unit.
I have the force and love it !
it came on the boat when I bought it !
I run it on 24v and it’s very stout quite and pulls very little juice.
very simple to use the foot petal or the remote! Very accurate spot lock ! unlike my previous experience with Minn Kota.
Too blessed to be stressed!mossyoakpro, Herewego LIKED above postCurlytail thanked you for this post
Just waned to throw something in here. I'm not set on a particular brand of trolling motor. I chose an Ulterra simply because it is the only one that has auto stow and deploy. I owned the 1st and 2nd gen of the Ulterra...and now the Ulterra Quest. I know you are not interested in an Ulterra but wanted to speak to the spot lock and GPS features on the new Quest series of motors. The Quest motors are so far ahead of the older generation it's not even funny. The spot lock is simply superb.....what they should have had years ago...and drift mode is pretty darn neat too. Has many advanced GPS features that I'll probably never use but it has them. The new Quest motors are whisper quite also. All these new features are in the new Quest Ultrex also. Don't have a clue if the Force is a better motor or not, just wanted to say the new Quest series are far superior to the older Minn Kota models.

I am currently running a remote controlled powerdrive with di sonar. I have no problem with minn kota but I'm not a big fan of Hummingbird. Looking for a change & my trolling motor as it gets alot more use than my big motor. I have Lowrance on my console & I do like it alot better than the Hummingbird I have linked to my trolling motor. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm currently running a Minn Kota Terrova with built in transducer. I use Lowrance electronics and just use an adapter so it recognizers the transducer. You don't have to change brands of trolling motor just to get away from Humminbird. I'm in the same position as you, by the way, I was considering upgrading to "my last boat I'll ever buy" and rigging it the way I wanted it, but chose just to upgrade the electronics for now (and adding Active Target) and will likely be doing an upgrade on the trolling motor at some point as well. Not sure whether to do the Ultrex/Ulterra or the Ghost. They sure aren't giving any of this stuff away.

Well now I'm all confused. I have been told by 2 different salesman that the MinnKota built sonar is only compatible with Hummingbird.

I run a Terrova with a Lowrance HDS 7 gen3 hooked to it with the adapter cord. The way I understood it is you can only get 2D imaging and I don't think you can control the trolling motor with the Lowrance either. The trolling motor I bought only had the 2D sonar built in for this reason.
