I use the cheap shimano fx from Walmart. Under 20 bucks a piece but they work great.
What is best bang for your buck. Vertical fishing reels

You talkin' about vertical jigging or just fishing over the side of the boat with your lines being straight down (ie: what some call tight line fishing, & what I call "still fishing") ??
If you're talking about vertical jigging ... whatever reel balances whatever rod you're using will be your "best bang".
If you're talking a reel that's basically just a line holder for stationary rods .... I'd go with the cheapies by Shimano or Okuma.
Can't go wrong with a sienna 2500.

For vertical jigging, I use 11 and 12 ft acc crappie sticks. I robbed the reels off three of my bass rods, the cheap abu black maxs. Thousands of fish caught with this setup and I’m not switching back to the spinning reels I’ve got a 7’’ foot rod for casting tho, and I just replaced the lews laser lite (which broke) with the smallest version of the pfleuger president. Highly recommend for a casting rod
