I agree with Skeet on the quality of Varivas braid.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.kmorrow LIKED above post
Try the Kastking silky 8 6lb braid. It's .10mm and smaller than 2lb mono at .12mm. I havent used 4lb braid since its is smaller than a thread it may be invisible to most people.
in my opinion it’s the best braid out there. Cortland is kind of a more trout/fly fishing brand but the master braid is excellent. Order straight from cortland it’s free shipping and they are pretty fast.
the 5 lb braid is equivalent to less than 1lb mono and cast really well.
the 8lb braid I think is equivalent to 2lb mono.
I’ve caught panfish and 5lb smallmouth on the 5lb with no problem
There’s braid, and there’s braid. Japanese premium braid is far superior to most US domestic market braid. Varivas….a site sponsor…..makes some of the finest braid you can buy. If it says it breaks at 5.6 pounds that is what it breaks at. US market braid will break way above its rating, sometimes double it’s rating. Varivas Infinity PE X8 in 5.6# test is round and casts great, and it breaks at 5.6 pounds. The diameter of this line is 0.074mm. I am using several types of Varivas braided lines. One I use is the Double Cross hybrid braid. It is mixed with Ester line and it actually sinks. Varivas makes some of the finest fishing lines there are….their nylon and Ester lines are second to none.

To add to the other Varivas comments: Their finish on their lines is markedly/noticeably smoother than others.

The PP moss green is great line but I can not see it to tie or observe, they seem to quit making white so trying yellow but will look at the Varivas and Cortland mentioned in this thread. Will say the white power pro was much tougher than nano, cast slightly shorter.
