and yes it hammered big slabs too .....
KABOOM is the word ....just saying
bought a name brand reel at the rod and reel shop a week ago , 40 bucks and pretty much a really crappy trash reel ,over 40 bucks ....not impressed in the least and the store said not our problem ,talk to manufacturer .....!
spool wobbles terribly when you pull the drag ....
then went online and bought a no name reel off amazon for 18 bucks and took it out for a test run yesterday ....
Holy you know what Batman what a jim dandy ! not sure how long it will last but to be WAY sure it feels like a hundred dollar or more reel ....not kidding either!
hooked about all kinds of fish and with 6 lb stren mono it performed like a pro series type reel , just smooth as silk and the drag is like wow !
a huge carp ,several catfish and one of them even had a broke off circle hook catfish rig still in it ! !
And then KABOOM and off to the races with really nice very light tackle bucket mouth Bass .....
buyer beware , some of the stuff that costs real money IS NOT even as good as a cheap no name reel ....
so is it a crappie reel or a crappy reel one might ask .....?
crappie reel for sure is the answer ....
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whalesJamesdean thanked you for this post
How do you pronounce that manufacturer and does it broadcast your fishing secrets to secret fishing spies? Good line sometimes makes a reel seem better, but I trust your reviews.
Mighty fine catches with said crappie reel

Always a gamble with the no name stuff but you're very likely to find a gem.
If you're going for "inexpensive" the Mr crappie reels are pretty much the same price. I have a couple and they are fine. I think they even came with line.
