It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!

whoops lost me , that is what we call a waterdog .....aka tiger salamander in its pre adult still fully aquatic stage of life ...
they are VERY cool , we went and bought one yesterday for a pet ....its in our aquarium as I type this post ....
will show it off later , they vary in coloration tremendously and the one in this post was just kinda brown with not much for markings , some have really cool yellow and or chart tiger markings and spots and such on a dark brown to black backgrounds ....cool critters for sure

I’m glad you didn’t get hurt any worse than you did, and you’ll be better and whackin n stackin again in no time. But the reel, well, real sorry to hear of its demise. Good reels are hard to find.

no doubt , the reel loss will haunt me , 10 years no maintenance and just smooth a warm butter , thousands of fish on that reel , boy howdy though my lower back from the wrenching maneuver is just not happy , didn't set in well until the weekend ....not fun

You're new pet dog is pretty cool. Remember when they were popular as a big bass bait when the big females were bedding and guess they still are. Bet he's happy in his new digs, sure beats what could have happened to him/her, fish food. Take some nails with you next time and fix that loose board, don't need to have lightning strike twice. That's a big crappie, definitely over 2#. I need one of those, just one to make me happy.

heck Jim first time I met you at you were holding one that went 16 inches tho don't think it was quite as big as ketchn's. agree I would take some screws and fix that board as you HAVE TO go back with fish that size there. lets be careful out there fisherfolk. as someone said we don't heal as easily as back in the day.

Outlaw I would think that one would be more than just 2. buddy of mine caught one not as long but girthier and it was 2.8 as he had his scale. Released to pass on it's genes.
