My Livescope is finally installed. I'm pretty excited.
Yes, that's definitely correct. So the big question is how long will they last real-world? The calculations say between 3.72 Hrs. (@58 watts) and 10.2 hours (@21 watts) But these being AGM lead acid, how much of that is useable?
I'm going to be patient and see how it works. If they are dead in 4 hours, I'm going to pull the trigger on a 50 AH Lithium on Amazon for $149. It's just as small, and I won't have to worry about it dying over the weekend.
I really appreciate your help in thinking this out. I plan to go out for a little while tomorrow afternoon. I will report back in the evening. Starting voltage, how long I ran it for, and ending voltage.
Thanks again!
My day went longer than expected today, but I ran out for a very short trip right before dark. With so little time, I decided to just run on one battery.
The Livescope worked just like on YouTube. I played with range and gain, and I even spotted some schools of fish and bait. Didn't have time to fish them, but that was very cool to see. I'll go back when I have a couple of hours and I'll play with it more, and record some footage, and hopefully catch some fish.
Life is good!

I haven't read all posts so if this has been covered i apologize. My suggestion is to buy another cradle for you 93SV. They cost about $50. Put one cradle at the helm and one up front. Then when you're mapping at the helm you can have the unit on that cradle, connected to the transducer. When you're fishing you can move the unit to the front cradle that is connected to the live scope.
I run this setup on my boat with my second unit so I can use both at the helm when i'm mapping.

Thank you for posting that. It's a solid idea.
I found the mount at the GPS store for $56.95:
Garmin Bail Mount for echoMAP Plus and UHD 93sv/94sv Units | The GPS Store
The power cable is $26.95:
Garmin 4-Pin Power/Data Cable for Chartplotters | The GPS Store
With tax and shipping, it's a over $100. I'm going to check some other sources, maybe eBay or marketplace, but that $100 could go toward a 2nd unit. Would love to find a used 93SV or even a 73SV if the price is right. I saw one a while back for $300, but missed the deal. I just need to be patient, and another one will probably pop up.
Going back to batteries, I ran the livescope for about 90 mins the other day on a single 9AH AGM battery. My voltage started at 12.8V and ended up at 12.4V. There used to be a chart telling you voltage vs percentage use, but I can't find it.
I'm guessing 12.4V is maybe 50% of the useable capacity? I that's the case, then 3 hours out of a single battery, or 6 hours out of both seems like a reasonable expectation, but I hope to go out tomorrow and experiment more.
