Default 13 fishing Omen Panfish and trout rod full review

    Updated review.

    I got the 5'6" ultralight version. $130 100% 36Ton modulus graphite.

It's a bit stiffer than most ultralights...so I'm gonna call it ultralight and a half.

In my first review, I said I wasn't sure if it was worth the money due to lack of perceived sensitivity. I am amending that statement. It is absolutely worth the money.

I had originally handicapped it by pairing it with a $16 Zebco Stinger and using mono instead of braid like I normally do.

This time, I paired it with a Pfluger President XT in 20 size and 6lb Suffix ProMix braid. Huuuuuge difference.

I could feel every pebble on the bottom. This is my new favorite ultralight rod by a long shot. The Pflueger Trion IM6 is really good....the Omen is on a different level as far as sensitivity goes.

Coming from bass fishing, I'm a stickler for rod sensitivity....and the Omen is tops of all the panfish rods I have hands down. It even beats my st croix panfish rod by a large margin.

If it's in your budget, and I don't say this often or lightly ..go get one.

Glad it worked out for you .
    I have the 5’6” model also .
I wished they’d put a lighter weight reel seat on it .
I’m getting into my drop shot season where sensitivity matters a lot .
I’ll be trying it again . Maybe its performance can overcome it being a little overweight in the grip/handle area .

It's bc of the brass additions. It balances pretty well with a light spinner though.

It's not as light as my higher end bass combos, but it costs 3* less too.
Thanks gillchaser999 thanked you for this post
