    Default casting a Mepps 00? can anyone cast it?


    I really like Mepps, when I go down in size I always catch fish, the 00 is 1/18 of an oz. , can anyone cast these?

    Everybody can cast it. LOL

    Like I said in the other thread, something is really wrong with your set up if you can't.

    1/8 of a ounce is some decent weight. It should cast very well

    No, Jack ... the Mepps #00 spinner weighs 1/18oz (not 1/8oz). But, yeah ... even so, it should cast as well as a 1/16oz lure.

    Yes, it does sound like you have too heavy a setup. U/L cast them no problem.

    I got now, used 2000 size spinning reel, 2 pound pline floroclear and a super limber road, I going to take to the trout river in the morning!

    I fish #00 mepps primarily for trout in the LMFR. I have an 8ft ultra-light rig that will cast them a good distance with 2lb test line.
