Its a 1975 air cooled made by Yamaha. You don't have an impeller so you don't have to worry about that. I'm having problems verifiying the oil mix but have a couple inquiries out in outboard repair forums that I participate in.
Family kept me busy all evening....but I got the serial no:
Mariner 5
661 S 424XX (last 2 digits X'd out by me).
Does that help ID it?
On the left side of the motor is stamped, "Made in Japan for Mariner International"

edit...
I found a link on the web of another one like mine, with better photos. They call it an air cooled motor in the add:

I found a few bits late last night that pointed towards it being air cooled, too. Now I can quit trying to get water into it!.. yeah, I've tried ...... some pretty "inventive" things, too...... :DOriginally Posted by IBNFSHN
'appreciated! If it's 50:1, I can cut back a bit and get better plug life.Originally Posted by IBNFSHN

I've gotten 1 reply and they say 25:1. I gotta believe that since it is air cooled. Plugs are suppose to be NGK B7HS gapped at .024Originally Posted by M1Tommy

I've been running about 32:1, but I usually go a "bit richer. I'll use that for weed-eater gas and make another tank at 25:1.Originally Posted by IBNFSHN
I'll find that plug, too.
Thanks!

P.S. Here's a shot w/ all those cooling fins, below. The motor's not QUITE as dirty as the photo makes it look!
