    Default the Outlaw

now mind you I don't always break the rules , but when I do it's mostly to ketch fish ......
So here we go , maybe a pitstop to ketch a few , first stop , about no water to ketch in ....
On the way to stop 2 is me and grab a bite to eat as it is lunch time . As I wandered out of the store a light bulb went off ......
Hey mam ,do you by any chance have any LIVE BAIT at this grocery store ?
She was like you know what we sure do ! right over by the atm is a small frig with worms in it .....
3.49 and they looked quite plump and frisky , AND my mind says to me , hold my drink and watch this ......
So down the trail I went , targeting bluegill was my agenda and when I got there I thought maybe jig a bit for crappie before I really hurt the sunfish .
Well NO sir was the fish on a jig , couldn't manage a mere peck ?
No worries , bet the bluegill can't pass a small pc. a worm on a jighead ...
First drop ....crappie , second drop crappie , third drop ..yet again crappie .
Just totally amazed that it became a seriously hard thing to accomplish to ketch me some bluegill....
Anyway an hour passed by quickly and it was time to ride again and 46 fish later about half or maybe slightly less were the target species . Never say never when it comes to the ever elusive crappie fish my friends .
    KABOOM is the word
p.s. shallow muddy water and no float , just a pitch and drag close to the bottom , 1 pm and buring hot and in the shade of a dock .

Ya Ketchn, you just never know. I've caught em on worms before but just the same, I wasn't targeting them either.

crappie 101 , if you think you know everything about crappie , you likely are getting fooled , just saying
I really was surprised how many bit worms , over half the fish in my ketch were crappie and I lost and missed quite few for some odd reason ?
they took it EVER so lightly and it was some kind of difficult to realize it was a fish , the delicacy of the takes was just so soft .

We pick night crawlers after the first spring nighttime thunderstorms. It has to be the "just"right conditions in the right area there's only a few spots to find them one is my buddies farm yard down the road. Some years they never surface, this year they did so we picked about 60 dozen,I keep them in a fridge, year round just put water and new dirt in on occasion.
We always have crawlers in the boat...everything in the lake eats them.
