Default Might have been my last time to ketch crappie

With my very good friend Ez , he is leaving for far away places soon and we are going to convert the boat back this Sunday to a pleasure craft to sell it.
Seems the fish wanted to say farewell to the crew in thumper mode though and that most assuredly made it a fun trip .
We hit some docks I have never visited ,but have heard were good sometimes. Ez found them the other day and said they were holding some good solid fish and I had a couple of hours on a LONG lunch break so off we went in search of them.
Hit it from 12 30 to 2 30 and managed to swing fish pretty darn well . worthy of mention was a first drop big ole magnum sand bass , thumped it hard and thought at first on the hookset , I had me a whale crappie ....
All of our "doubles" were not really big fish , but it was black and white and black and white again and again. We sure will miss Ez , makes my heart sad , found him on a fishing forum more than 10 years ago and have had about as much fun as a person can imagine hanging around with him .
His attitude and personality go well with mine and to be sure we have slung thousands of crappie together over the years .
Now mind you this , not all the fish ran small and we managed to ketch lots of decent keepers and everything went right smooth , Rolled up to hit it as Ez got out of his truck and H was waiting with ice on the water when we loaded up . Was back to blooming HOT on the water and summer has returned to Texas as it most often does .
H and I both hooked really big fish that broke us off and I even had it happen twice , one might have even been a crappie , not sure on that part though.
We might get to visit the water a time or two again before he leaves Texas though and like I told him we really dont "need" LS or a graph or a trolling motor to go hammer fish , them are just luxuries ....
So in the end did my t-shirt make a difference you might ask ,no clue but for sure I set the hook about a zillion times ....
p.s. fish were all released, none died to the best of my knowledge
and KABOOM is still the word btw

Good pics and write up. You guys have an awesome crew and makes me a little jealous I’m not near Texas. It will be sad but things change and Ez wants to go try something different. Best of wishes Ez, I’m sure he will keep in touch and report on those catches soon enough.
Thanks Ketchn thanked you for this post

one thing for certain , he will be missed down here , really great company is not all that easy to find .
his generosity ,coupled with his "Ez going" attitude make it a nice visit every time , wish where he was going wasn't so far away , would take road trips to see him if it wasn't days to get there .
