    Default Move fast

and fish slow is something a bud of mine often says . this is fact if you want to stay on numbers of fish . if I hit a spot that I think is holding fish and they don't bite in the first 2 or 3 drops I move . I will typically present the jig in 3 different ways to them and if it don't get bit I move .
slowly falling , slowly rising and sitting pretty still . I might vary that slightly if i am at a spot where I know something a bit extra is the trigger , but most of the time I stay within the rules set fourth .
one location I like ,it is often that they want it moving parallel to the bottom , so when in Rome dont ya know .
I also get easily bored with fish that don't cooperate and need to move to see if some other fish are more cooperative .
I like to get bit EVERY drop and that is of course greedy , but in the end if you like a bent rod and fish slinging , then that's how to do it ......
knowing the fish at each water body is also the ticket to staying on fish , some like it just so so and others could care less .
one location wants a jumping jig like you are trying to ketch speckled trout under a popping cork , the next wants it moving so slow it hurts .
move lots till you find them cooperating and then beat them up till they quit and move again .....just saying

My approach to staying in a location before moving is different, but you know that already by my posts.

Nice tips and tutorial, Ketchn. I’ve filed it away for the future.

PS Yesterday I finally found a bedding area very shallow in my local stream and absolutely loaded with pans. If I fished some of your rods as opposed to my U/L, it would have been a “Ketchn Sling O’ Rama”. Fun stuff when you’re into a fish a cast!

a bite per cast like you said , and if you missed it , you would get another about that fast ....
