IF I'm Pushing, it's mostly with jigs. While I do have a huge selection of cranks, ever since I got Livescope I haven't really done much Pushing with cranks (or jigs).

The "advantage", IMHO, is not so much with whether it's a jig vs a crank, but the "Push" vs "Pull" factors. That would be less line out, and sharper turn capability.

As far as a jig vs crank ... biggest advantage, in my book, is "cost" ... whether it's purchasing or losing them, in which case the jig wins.

I pushed micro rattle traps with pretty good success. Used trolling weights to keep them down straighter. You can run some pretty tight and twisty creek channels like that.

I prefer to push jigs and pull cranks... tried pushing cranks and I just wasn’t fond of it

Thanks for the feedback, I’m ashamed to say I do have livescope. I’ve never had success finding summer crappie and was thinking about pushing jigs or cranks, using livescope to help pinpoint depths.

My plans for the summer include pulling cranks with planer boards to see if I can tempt some crappie into playing.

Don’t be ashamed of it lol it’s a useful tool I just don’t think it was meant to be used like it’s being used I don’t think it’s right I hear all the time it’s like a video game... if you want a video game stay home and play one.... seen folks almost run over one another because they cannot look away from the screen. That said it should definitely help you tune in on the right depth
