My wife was going through some pics and found this picture of me from 1979 with my first bass over 8#. I was 21 years old when the photo was taken. Picture is in bad shape, think I carried it in my wallet and it got wet or something. Figured a couple of selfie pics from yesterday's trip would take care of the now and found some crappie that weren't camera shy. Can pictures like this be fixed? I'd like a larger version without wrinkles and such.

Some wonderful catches. There are places that restore photos and cost of doing so has greatly decreased. Did a quick search and for around $40 you can have one done now. Amazing what technology can do.

It's been 43 years but I still can remember it like it was last week. The crappie were spawning and had a cooler full that day. I was using a Johnson 710 reel with 4# test line, split shot and aberdeen hook rigged with a chub. Seen a bass on a bed and cast to deeper water so I didn't spook it and was going to bring it into the bed and saw this big girl suddenly appear and suck in my minnow. Pushed the button on my 710 and let it run for a few seconds before I set the hook. After a few minutes I got it to the bank and grabbed it with one hand and she shook hard and I dropped her back in and she took off and I thought I'd lost her. She stayed on and the next time I got her close I got one hand in, dropped the rod and used both hands and she was mine. It cost $75 to have it mounted but I no longer have the mount. Nephew accidently knocked it off the wall and broke the tail off and the dorsal fin.
Good pics Jim.
Hate to hear about the mount. Good memories for sure. Thanks for sharing them.
