I believe both sides have merit. Time will tell the real story.

I fish local Crappie tournaments and have for over a decade. Live-Scope made a difference to some extent. In the end, anybody can win the tournament with or without electronics. All winners say the same thing, we had to sort thru a lot of fish to get the big ones. In the end, anglers catch fish, and every lake has an average size Crappie. The winners manage to catch Crappie larger than average. Those catching average sized Crappie, will finish in the middle of the pack with all the other averaged sized fish. Look at tournament results. Not the top 5, 10 places. Look at all competitors' results, including their big fish. It tells a story about that lake.

Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!
Yesterdays tournament results. 21 teams. About 1/3 the field has live-scope, and their results are scattered thru out the results. In other words, not everyone in the top 1/3 has live-scope.

Arkansas did one as well. I was stopped at the ramp a few times. To me it helps eliminate dead water and let me know where the fish are hanging out in the water. I've only had a few good days where I could go pick them off individually.
I see way more fish with it than I catch, no different than being in MN where I could actually see the crappie with my own eyes. I could see that they were right next to my lure but getting them to bite was a whole different story. Frustrating when you could see the fish and catch maybe 1out of 25 you put your lure in front of or they would suck it in and spit it out so fast; we did a lot of hook setting with nothing not even feeling a strike! Frustrating and FUN at the same time!
