    I've caught them in Tennessee, specifically out of Watts Bar Reservoir. They came from under docks, off trees, from under bridges, and pretty much everywhere else.
    I've caught them or heard of them being caught in many lakes in Kentucky.
    All of the ones in Tn or Ky are "stocked" fish. They're native to about 20 or so states, but stocked in many others.

    I see them quite often but they always seen to be 12 inches or less. I have nev.er seen a big one either in person or over the internet.

    Out of the 3 I've caught this was the largest for sure.

    They get way bigger than 12” in Tennessee. The one in pic was 17 5/8”. My PB. And I have some friends that have caught 18”+ black nose.
