If it's legal, it's legal. No need to stir up controversy.
Following the livescope thread on here and all the different feelings about using it but no one has mentioned anything about it on ice. I know the greater percentage of people here are from the soft water regions but what about the guys from up north. How do you feel about the guys that use it on the ice? Guys are using it to pinpoint schools and cutting holes above them to catch their fish. Don’t need many holes anymore. Cut one, drop down and scan, and head on over to where you see the fish. Don’t need topo maps or even gps anymore. Guys with these are dominating the icefishing tournament circuits up here too. So what are your thoughts on livescope on the ice?

I would think you would still want GPS for marking all those brush piles you find with fish around them. Even the ones close to shore without any fish around them. They will be there this summer.
Livescope fishing is to fishing what high fence deer hunting is to hunting. You go to the lodge, have few drinks and a super meal, get up about 9:00 the next
morning and go to the stand. Deer come by all day and you pick the one you want. Then you go home. The next day you go to the country club and tell everyone
about the Boone & Crocket buck you out witted. 75 percent of the people becoming crappie legends in the last two years couldn't catch a crappie in a bathtub without livescope. The excuse that it is fishing because you have to make them bite is lame. You have to make them bite by any other method too. Hope this doesn't stir up any controversy. If it does, it is chaunc's fault.

I wondered why no one used it on the ice , guess that is now an answered question
it is only unfair if you don't own one is the general consensus in my opinion .
kinda like private water crappie ketchn , it isn't really fair if you don't get to do it too
I purchased and have been using a M360 this ice season. I have not had quite the results that they show in these videos but of course, they're most likely showing the best of the best schools with their videos.
I have about a half dozen trip with it this year but to be honest, it's not providing the results I expected. I'm finding fish but I'm not yet able to brag about how good it is.
Finding the fish isn`t that what it is suppose to do? With out it how would you find those fish without drilling how many holes. Any time there are suspended fish they are on the move and hard to stay on them, with out 360 have no idea which way or where they are going. I use mine more in the summer as don`t ice fish very often and it`s a game changer for any suspended fishery which around here is summer. Use SI to find schools then Mega 360 to stay with them doesn't mean they are going to bite but at least you know you are at least fishing fish not dead water..
chaunc thanked you for this post
